Three nurses were recognised with top awards in the inaugural Occupational Health Nurses Association awards last month.
Terry Buckingham, the association’s incoming chair, said the new awards were a chance to celebrate and reward occupational health and safety’s top talent.
The winner of the H&S Practitioner Award went to Glenys Barker, health and safety manager for Vero Insurance. The New Member Award went to Maria Burns of Christchurch and the Young Achiever Award went to Jessica Clout of Taranaki.
The sponsored awards were presented at the association’s annual general meeting. Each winner received a $1500 prize towards professional development. Five merit awards were also presented.
