Kiwis are being asked to don bright yellow earmuffs and undertake a hearing loss challenge as a major fundraiser for the National Foundation for the Deaf.

The Silent Leadership Challenge aims to raise awareness of noise-induced hearing loss in the workplace and the consequences of losing hearing.  Corporate and community leaders, and their teams, are invited to sign up to the online fundraising campaign.  On signing up they get sent a welcome pack including bright yellow hearing protectors to stimulate what it is like to be hard of hearing.  Plus information on the three short challenges participants are asked to do while wearing the ‘muffs’.  These include participating in a one-on-one meeting, a team-meeting and watching television.
