Nominations are sought for two $1000 awards recognising clinical excellence and supporting ‘tall poppies’ in primary health care nursing.

The nominees must be NZ College of Primary Health Care Nurse members and currently working as a primary health care nurse.  Nurses are being encouraged to nominate colleagues for the $1000 Nursing Excellence Award 2017 who display excellence in their practice and/or are inspirational leaders, engaged in innovative research and great clinical teacher. Nominations are also sought for the $1000 Tall Poppy Award 2017 for nurses of “genuine merit who are elevated above or distinguished from their peers”.  The award were instigated by an ex-practice nurse who felt tall poppies were not always recognised.

Nominations close on July 28 and the winners will be announced at the College’s symposium in Auckland on August 19.
