New Zealand Faith Community Nursing Association Conference 2017

September 8 @ 8:00 am - September 9 @ 5:00 pm

COME TO AUCKLAND TO HEAR AN INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVE ON FAITH COMMUNITY NURSING: HELEN WORDSWORTH, CO-FOUNDER OF PARISH NURSING IN THE UK, WILL BE IN NEW ZEALAND DURING THE SPRING AND HAS KINDLY AGREED TO SPEAK AT OUR CONFERENCE.

Helen will relate her message to our theme verse: “Jesus is the same yesterday and today and forever” HEB 13:8. She will also present the research that she did for her doctorate and has published as “Rediscovering a Ministry of Health: Parish nursing as a mission of the local church.” This provides a compelling argument for churches pondering the value of a Faith Community Nurse so invite people to hear what she has to say.

Other speakers will be from among our membership:

Rachael Westenra – the after effects of an earthquake

Janet Hogan – emergency preparedness

Elizabeth Niven – “current research and thinking on spiritual care in dementia” Elizabeth is one of our Life Members and a past chairperson of NZFCNA.

The conference venue has views stretching across Auckland’s magnificent Manukau Harbour, and bordered on the west by one of the city’s premier parks. Selwyn Heights enjoys a prime location in charming Hillsborough, central Auckland. It is conveniently situated just off Auckland’s south-western motorway and only fifteen minutes from the airport and motorway south, making The Selwyn Heights Retirement Village easily accessible for family visiting from the city, eastern and western suburbs.

Originally known as the Masonic Village it was established over forty years ago and purchased by The Selwyn Foundation in 2005.
